SUMMER MUSIC FESTIVAL IN GORI

The European Union Monitoring Mission (EUMM) Field Office in Gori is pleased to announce that a Summer Music Festival is going to take place in Stalin Square in Gori on Friday, 29 July 2011 at 19.00. You are all welcome to come along to this event.

‘We want to thank the local people of Gori and the surrounding area for the warmth and generosity of your hospitality to the staff of the Field Office as we go about our work. In return EUMM Field Office Gori would like to invite all the inhabitants of Shida Kartli region to come and join us at this Summer Music Festival’, Manfred Meyer, Chief of EUMM Field Office Gori has said. 

The event will start at 19.00 with an EUMM interactive presentation in Stalin Square in Gori, during which EUMM monitors will be engaging with the local population and explaining the work of EUMM.
Next, the well known rock band NEO from Tbilisi will open the festival at 20.00. Harmonic ballads with a Latin influence and fast danceable rock classics are the typical sounds of NEO.

A second rock band, RKINIS RAINDI from Gori, will perform from around 21.30. RKINIS RAINDI perform their own compositions in the style of the 70s in Georgian language, but this time they will also play songs in English such as ‘Smoke on the water’ and ‘We will Rock you’. RKINIS RAINDI is a famous band from GORI who suspended its activity for almost 15 years but reunited in May this year to perform during the celebrations for Europe Day in Gori in May 2011.

The EUMM Summer Music Festival has been organised with the support of the GORI Municipality.
