On
5 November Ambassador Tyszkiewicz, the Head of the EU Monitoring Mission met David
Darakhevlidze, the Minister of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied
Territories, Accommodation and Refugees of Georgia. They discussed matters of
mutual interest and possible fields of future cooperation. As part of its
mandate the Mission monitors the situation of the conflict affected population,
including that of IDPs. Livelihood issues, housing solutions and preparations
for the winter were also touched upon. As EUMM has regular patrols extensively
monitoring the situation on the ground, the Head of Mission offered that EUMM
continued to share its relevant knowledge about IDPs with the Ministry.
