Chargé d’Affaires at the British Embassy in Tbilisi visiting EUMM

On 24 January Ambassador David Moran who has assumed the role of Chargé d’Affaires at the British Embassy in Tbilisi visited the EU Monitoring Mission headquarters. Ambassador Moran has previously served as the British Ambassador to Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic and Uzbekistan. His posting also include Nairobi, Moscow and Paris. He was accompanied by Charlotte Hunter, the political officer at the UK Embassy in Georgia.

The guests were welcomed by the Head of Mission Ambassador Andrzej Tyszkiewicz. They were given an update on the security situation, the mandate and the structure of the Mission, as well as recent achievements and challenges.

The visitors thanked the Mission’s management for the comprehensive update on the current security situation on the ground. They also praised EUMM’s role in contributing to stability in the region and expressed appreciation of Mission’s activities saying that the high credibility of the Mission was of vital importance for the stability of the whole region. They also reiterated Britain’s full support to EUMM. Ambassador Moran also exchanged information from some of his meetings with governmental interlocutors and shared experiences.

In return, Ambassador Tyszkiewicz thanked Ambassador Moran for taking the interest in the work of EUMM and for Britain’s support to the Mission.
