EUMM continues fight against Gender Based Violence

EUMM concluded the ‘16 Days of Activism against Gender Based Violence’ on 10 December – International Human Rights Day. Over these 16 days, EUMM worked with around 1800 people in areas along the ABL, spreading the word about the campaign and raising awareness about gender based violence.
Water is Life

Every day the EUMM patrols the Administrative Boundary Lines with South Ossetia and also Abkhazia, monitoring and reporting on the impact of the conflict on local communities. Access to water is symptomatic of the many issues caused by the divide, such as access to land, but also to education, social services and religious sites.
COEST delegation visits ABL and meets NGO representatives

A delegation from The Council of the EU Working Party on Eastern Europe and Central Asia (COEST), which handles all aspects of EU relations and cooperation with countries in Eastern Europe visited EUMM. The visit to the Abkhaz theatre was hosted by Field Office Zugdidi while the group visiting the South Ossetian theatre was jointly received by Field Office Mtskheta and Field Office Gori.
Press and Public Information Project - Cross-Boundary Workshop for Journalists

EUMM organised a Cross-Boundary Workshop for Journalists in Istanbul, Turkey. The theme of the workshop was “Expanding Online Networks and New Tools for Journalists”. Twelve journalists took part: four from the Tbilisi Administered Territory (TAT) and also four each from Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
